Being told she only had a few months to live was what spurred Belle Gibson to set up a business to help others in a similar situation.
Five years ago Belle Gibson was told she had a brain tumour that could kill her within four months. Today the tumour is still there, under often personally challenging treatment, and Gibson has founded and is running a Melbourne-based iPhone/iPad app company with a global audience.
The app, The Whole Pantry, came out of 25-year-old Gibson’s determination not to be crushed by her cancer and to find a way to help people like herself who needed support – with their health and their whole lives. ‘‘I had gone through lots of adversity,’’ Gibson told me while we sat beside an amazing vegetable display in the big Whole Foods Market on 4th Street in San Francisco. It’s just up the road from the Moscone Center, where she was attending Apple’s 2014 World Wide Developer Conference.

Blake Lively Launches a Lifestyle Website and You Will Hate Yourself
The actress Blake Lively is following in the Prada-shod footsteps of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, and Lauren Conrad: She launched a lifestyle website. It’s called Preserve, and in her editor’s letter, Lively says her new website isn’t a new website, per se. It’s a “new street. A sort of greatest hits of ‘Main Street, USA’. While the whole world races to keep up with technology, we tighten our laces, join the race, but our end goal is to preserve what's already there.” So far, Preserve includes a paean to the art of letter writing, a recipe for “kick ass” baby-back ribs, and a featured artisan who makes leather goods through a distressing process described as “sensual.”
Social media users feel 'ugly, inadequate and jealous'
Social media users feel 'ugly, inadequate and jealous'
Two in five young people acknowledge that they would be happier if they used social media less
Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter are making users feel ugly, inadequate and jealous, according to new research by the disabled charity Scope.
In a poll of around 1,500 social media users, 62 per cent said that these sites made them feel inadequate about their own life or achievements, and 60 per cent said they make them feel jealous of other people’s lives.
Although many people said they feel amused or better connected to other people when they use social media, nearly a third said that they actually feel lonely when they look at their social media feed.
People between the ages of 18 and 34 are nearly three times as likely to admit to being ‘addicted’ to social media as other users, even though almost half of respondents in this age group said that their social media feed makes them feel ugly or unattractive.
Two in five young people acknowledged that they would be happier if they used social media less. Over half of 18-34 year olds say that they have been tempted to stop using social media completely, and 45 per cent say that they would like to shut down their social media accounts, but it’s too hard to stay in touch with people without them.

Tuğba Özerk'in kalçasındaki dövme ne?
Fatih Cesur’la evliliğin eşiğinden dönen Tuğba Özerk, Ege’de stres atıyor.
Birkaç hafta önce Çeşme’de objektife yansıyan şarkıcı, önceki gün ise Bodrum-Türkbükü’ndeki Maki Otel’in plajındaydı. Pembe çiçekli bikinisiyle dikkat çeken Özerk, objektiflerin kendisine yönelmesinden rahatsızlık duymadı.
"Kilo aldım, Bodrum'a gelemem"
Sibel Can aldığı kilolar yüzünden Bodrum tatilini iptal etti.
Ünlü sanatçı Sibel Can her yıl gittiği butik oteldeki randevusunu, otelin sahibi Ali Sayar'ı arayıp "Çok kilo aldım, bu yıl oraya gelmem imkansız" diyerek iptal ettiği ileri sürüldü. Söylenenlere göre Can'ın 10 kilo fazlası var. Şok diyetlerle verdiği kiloları aynı hızla geri alan Sibel Can, muhabirlere mayolu görüntü vermekten kaçınmak için Fransa'daki evinde tatil yapmaya karar vermiş.
